Big and Little Hips (Rosa nutkana and R. gymnocarpa). Watercolor Rosaceae ~ Rose Family Rose hips were useful as a food to the native peoples, but my fascination with them is their beauty. I always get a giggle from my middle-aged lady friends when I comment, "and look how much more beautiful the big hips are!"
